When novelist George Dawes Green founded The Moth almost 20 years ago, he launched a modern storytelling renaissance. In doing so he reminded us that real stories, from real people, simply relating their own real experiences, can be more compelling, rewarding, and just plain fun than even the most lavish and expensive Hollywood blockbusters. His new project, Sudden Owl, is an exploration of storytelling at its most essential, both in the sense of its essence, and in its fulfillment of a human necessity. This evening we will present six storytellers from our community of brilliant raconteurs, along with several short story videos curated and directed by George Dawes Green himself.
